EUA 73 Apartment
Lisbon, Portugal

This full rehabilitation project aimed to transform a spacious apartment, previously unsuited to contemporary needs, into a functional and visually appealing space. While preserving the original layout, targeted changes were made to the social area, adopting an open-space concept that enhances flow and interaction between the living room and kitchen. The partial-height wall between these spaces improves visual communication and amplifies the sense of openness and brightness. A key highlight of the project was the bold decision to showcase the apartment’s structural elements, such as pillars and beams. Instead of concealing them, they were emphasized, becoming central design features. Once seen as obstacles, these elements now reveal the building’s original era aesthetics with a contemporary touch, creating a unique blend of past and present architecture.
