Estoril Pool

Estoril, Portugal

Located in the heart of Lisbon, this terraced house was completely rehabilitated with the aim of preserving its original features as much as possible. The intervention proposal respects the architectural language of the main façade, maintaining its identity. The new volume, added to the rear of the plot, “attaches” to the existing structure, establishing a symbiotic relationship that merges the spaces into a single construction. On the ground floor, the social areas of the house are organized in an open-plan concept, prioritizing fluidity and family living. At the rear, a large glass opening connects the interior with the exterior. The difference in levels was resolved by creating terraces that form a small amphitheater, naturally integrating with the home’s social area. While respecting the original structure, the rear façade adopts a contemporary language, emphasized by the verticality and rhythm of the openings.
