One of the highlights of the project is the new roof, consisting of a gabled roof with a concealed eave, which integrates harmoniously with the building. At the junction of the two slopes, a continuous glazing facing north was created, allowing for uniform natural light entry and natural ventilation of the interior space. Externally, a new access square was designed to connect the building’s entrance to the surrounding area, with ramps and stairs ensuring accessibility and smooth circulation. In tribute to the history of the site, a new olive tree was planted, symbolizing the memory of the former occupation of the space by the olive growers’ cooperative.

The building that once housed the Cooperativa dos Olivicultores de Murça has been revitalized
to accommodate the new Operational Services Center of the Murça Municipal Chamber (CMM).
The project prioritized the preservation of the original structure, maintaining the façades and the main formal characteristics of the building. The interventions were carefully planned to preserve the two existing large volumes, respecting the historical and architectural value of the construction.
