The proposal reinforces the existing urban structure with a unique building that breaks the visual continuity of consolidated blocks, creating urban and human scales inspired by Richard Serra’s “Walking is Measuring.” The street design includes a “green filter” for ground-floor units, bicycle parking, public sidewalks, and on-street parking. Material continuity between interiors and public space is emphasized by extending entrance paving onto the sidewalks, clearly marking access points.

The project improves pedestrian circulation through an urban-scale staircase integrated into the building and a landscaped pathway along the western façade. It aims to return unbuilt areas to the city, avoiding “non-places” and promoting a diverse urban fabric. On a macro level, the design seeks a “breathing” building that fosters community life, with the connection between interior and exterior spaces as its guiding principle.
