Quaresma House
Estoril, Portugal

Two plots, two houses, one geometry. The design focuses on creating a single, anonymous volume that integrates seamlessly into the urban fabric. A horizontally shifted mass creates a play of solids and voids, highlighted by horizontal glazed openings—contained at the front and expansive at the rear, reflecting the interior layout. The houses develop over two levels, contrasting circulation and living spaces both vertically and horizontally, in relation to the plot. Small, black, glossy tiles emphasize the volume’s horizontality while creating tension at the entrances.
